MICHEAL HAMMONS

Born and raised in the Panhandle of Texas, Micheal moved to Round Rock in 1988. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design with graduate studies toward a MFA in Fine Art with a minor in Art History. An award-winning artist, Micheal specializes in watercolor, acrylic and oil. He has been recognized for his architectural composition and use of bright vibrant color. Hammons' professional memberships include Critique Circle, Galveston Arts Center,  Austin Visual Arts Association, and Plein Air New Mexico.  Micheal is the President of Art Center of Williamson County where he also teaches since July 2001. OSCAR GALVAN

Born in Brownsville, Texas, Oscar moved to the Austin area in 1974. He holds a B.S. in Art Education from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. After graduation, he worked with troubled youth for seventeen years primarily as Director of a community-based halfway house teaching teens to become emotionally healthy and independent. He is a member of the Austin Visual Arts Association and served as a board member from 1995 to 1999. He is a member of Texas Fine Arts Association and La Pena. He currently teaches Visual Graphics at Austin Community College. Oscar has been an instructor at the Art Center since 2000. KATHERINE UITZ

An award-winning artist, Katherine is known for her clear, vibrant images in watercolors and oils. Her artwork can be found in collections in Austria, Sweden, Japan, England and the U.S. Katherine earned mention in "Southwest Art" and "Art of the West" magazines. In 1996, she won the Grand Prize award in the annual Arts for the Parks competition for her painting of Yellowstone's Minerva Terrace. In 1997, she was named one of five emerging artists by Meyer Gallery in Park City, UT. In 2002, her paintings won entry into Greenhouse Gallery's first annual Salon International in San Antonio and American Plains Artists annual juried show. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America. Katherine has been an instructor at the Art Center for the past five years.

JOANN GALAZIOS

Joann received an A.A. Associate in Art Degree from Santa Maria, CA in December of 1999.  She has seven years of classroom experience at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Ca teaching Adobe Photoshop. She specializes in pastels, pencil drawing and charcoal and is an exceptional portrait and wildlife artist. Joann joined the team of instructors at the Art Center in 2006 and works primarily with children and teenagers.

SUSAN THAMES

Susan is the newest instructor at the Art Center. She received a BFS in Studio Art in 2000 from College of the Ozarks in Branson, MO. She has artwork displayed in multiple businesses in Conway, AR. She is represented in art galleries in Las Vegas, NM, Kenton, OK and had a previous one-woman show in Boise City, OK. Susan has received numerous awards in multiple art shows in New Mexico and Oklahoma. She was instrumental in developing an after school art program for students in Boise City, OK. She teaches multiple media including oil, acrylics, pencil, pastels and charcoal.
